Dr. Andrea Mierzynski

dr-andrea-mierzynskiDr. Andrea Mierzynski completed her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto in 1987. She graduated with honours from the University of Waterloo with her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1991 and has been in private practice ever since. She has enjoyed practicing in the Bloor West Village for over 20 years. She is married with 3 teenage children.

She has served on the Board of Directors for the Ontario Association of Optometrists and on the Advisory Council for TLC the Laser Centre. Fitting specialty contact lenses for the film industry has been a part of her busy schedule. She has a special interest in ocular disease and laser refractive surgery and has enjoyed working with various media agencies fulfilling the role of advisor for articles on eye and health related topics.

Outside of the office she enjoys travelling with her family, photography and gardening.

Dr. Wendy Tam-Wai

DSC07784 2Dr. Wendy Tam-Wai received her Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry and has been a partner at Bloor West Optometry since 2002. The well being of her patients is her top priority. Her philosophy is that listening to their concerns, educating patients about their eyes, and taking a preventative approach to eye diseases will result in the best possible care. 

When not meeting new patients, Dr. Tam-Wai can be found brushing up her golf skills, throwing rocks with her curling team and visiting exciting, new destinations around the world with her family. 

Dr. Kalyn Burroughs

dr-kalyn-burroughsDr. Kalyn Burroughs graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2003. She has been an associate in this office since graduation and a partner since 2013. Over the years, she has enjoyed watching the practice grow as she meets new patients and continues to care for her established patients.

In optometry, she has special interests in contact lenses, pediatrics and ocular health. Through her work she has enjoyed meeting many people from the Bloor West neighborhood and surrounding areas, and she looks forward to meeting many more.

At home, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Lesley Ho

dr-Lesley-HoDr. Lesley Ho graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo in 2008. She completed internships in Salt Lake City, Utah alongside a glaucoma specialist, and also at the Hong Kong Polytechnic School of Optometry.

She has received thorough training in ocular disease management, laser vision co-management and contact lens care.

Dr. Ho enjoys volunteering at the 4 Villages Community Health Centre doing screenings for in-need neighbourhoods. She is fluent in English and Cantonese and looks forward to welcoming new patients and hopes to serve the community with the highest standard of care.

Dr. Jaclyn Chang

Jaclyn headshotDr. Jaclyn Chang graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences before continuing on at Waterloo to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree. She is the recipient of the Canadian Association of Optometrists Award of Merit for her leadership contributions and the Alcon Scholarship for Research in Contact Lens Care. Dr. Chang has interned at the Jack C. Montgomery Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Muskogee, Oklahoma where she was able to gain experience in treating a wide variety of ocular diseases. She has volunteered her optometric skills in Dar es salaam, Tanzania and Kingston, Jamaica.

 

Dr. Lauren Horochowskyj

LHheadshotDr. Lauren Horochowskyj graduated with Honours from the University of Waterloo in 2018 where she received a Doctor of Optometry degree. She has had thorough training in both pre-operative and post-operative management for cataracts and laser vision correction which she obtained by completing an internship with ophthalmologists in Houston, Texas. 

She looks forward to continuing to work at this clinic providing high quality eye care to the community.
